about

This song was written in 2006 following Keller's move from Florida to Massachusetts and a subsequent cutting-of-ties. The band also has plans to record a studio version of the piece for their next album, expected to be released in late summer of 2011.

lyrics

Let it wash all over me / and put the honey soap down / I'm clean enough as you can see / and you've not enough to go around / It comes as a matter of fact that she wasn't mine / It comes as a matter of fact your tone's out of line / Let the sun rise up again / I'm sorry honey I've got to go / You're the notion I'm swimming in / You've more than just my word to know / In spite of all of my answers and all of my reasons / In spite of all of our fault lines I am alive / And when you come into my town you know that I won't settle down / In spite of all my reasons, I am yours / The mountain brings my words to you / thrown around from time to time / It's not as though I wanted two / My words don't often speak my mind.

about

Mobjack is at once deeply grounded in classic American archetypes and clearly modern, unbeholden to simple forms or ... more categorization. They are equal parts Crazy Horse and Band of Horses, a seamless blend of influences that inform the essence of Mobjack's sound: the aching duality of modern America, immersed in the past yet moving inexorably forward. less
